As a trainer, the Fusion 15 is a superb all-round teaching platform. It excites kids, and for racing-oriented programs it's a natural step up the performance ladder toward all-out racers, not to mention an appealing racer in its own right. And for adults, it offers a meaningful alternative to learning to sail in a keelboat, which are both more expensive and less effective in conveying the nuances of sailing.

Adults who learn to sail in a Fusion 15 are also motivated to keep sailing them after graduating. That means a healthy new fleet in the drysail area, whether in boats that are privately owned or held in a community fleet by the club for use on a time-share basis.
